 Black History Month Presentations and Celebrations at Jones Elementary MST Academy   

Jones Elementary MST Academy will be celebrating all month with a variety of programs presented by each grade level and Young Audiences.  Parents and community members are invited to come celebrate with us!

February 13-17
11:50-12:30 First grade parents can join their children for lunch and walk through the art museum featuring famous African American artist.


February 17

9:15 a.m. Second grade will be hosting “A Peek into the Arts” as we celebrate Black History Month.  There will be a small art gallery and songs from African American culture. 
10:00-11:00 a.m. Third grade will present a Living Wax Museum presenting student’s biography research on famous African Americans.
10:30-11:15 Young Audiences present Elizabeth Kahura in a Black History Program for grades K-2
1:00-1:45 Young Audiences present Elizabeth Kahura  in a Black History Program for grades 3-5

February 21-24
Kindergarten parents are invited to come see the research, writing, and illustrations of their children over famous African Americans.

February 24
2:00-3:00 Fourth grade students will be researching and writing about famous African Americans.  These research papers will be presented in homeroom classes.

February 28, 2017
10:00 a.m.  Jones Jaguar 5th grade students are holding a brunch honoring community members and their dedication and commitment to our town.  This brunch will be a reflection and celebration of heroes past and present.
