• The Title I Parenting will once again provide Practice Packets for the upcoming STAAR assessments for grades 5 and 8.  Parents may begin calling our office to request a packet on Monday, January 23. Title I office hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

  •  Black History Month Presentations and Celebrations at Jones Elementary MST Academy   

    Jones Elementary MST Academy will be celebrating all month with a variety of programs presented by each grade level and Young Audiences.  Parents and community members are invited to come celebrate with us!

    February 13-17
    11:50-12:30 First grade parents can join their children for lunch and walk through the art museum featuring famous African American artist.

    February 17

    9:15 a.m. Second grade will be hosting “A Peek into the Arts” as we celebrate Black History Month.  There will be a small art gallery and songs from African American culture. 
    10:00-11:00 a.m. Third grade will present a Living Wax Museum presenting student’s biography research on famous African Americans.
    10:30-11:15 Young Audiences present Elizabeth Kahura in a Black History Program for grades K-2
    1:00-1:45 Young Audiences present Elizabeth Kahura  in a Black History Program for grades 3-5

    February 21-24
    Kindergarten parents are invited to come see the research, writing, and illustrations of their children over famous African Americans.

    February 24
    2:00-3:00 Fourth grade students will be researching and writing about famous African Americans.  These research papers will be presented in homeroom classes.

    February 28, 2017
    10:00 a.m.  Jones Jaguar 5th grade students are holding a brunch honoring community members and their dedication and commitment to our town.  This brunch will be a reflection and celebration of heroes past and present.

  • UIL

    Jones Elementary is excited to announce that we will be participating in the UIL Academic meet this year.  The first competition will be on February 25th at Rice Elementary.  Students in second thru fifth grade will be compenting in Art, Creative Writing, Dictionary Skills, Maps, Charts, and Graphs, Music Memory, Number Sense, Oral Reading, Ready Writing, Spelling, and Storytelling.  If you have a child that is particiatping please watch for details and forms coming home to be signed and returned!

  • mr Congratulations to Mary Risginer for being nominated for the Sterling Shining Star.  The Sterling Shining Star Award is an annual program that recognizes and rewards school district employees.   • Tyler ISD would like to inform parents of important changes to the reporting dates for the 2016 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) assessments.


    The results for the STAAR spring 2016 grades 3-8 administration were scheduled to be reported to districts on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. This date has been moved to Tuesday, July 5, 2016. The Texas Education Agency apologizes for this delay and understands the significant inconvenience late reporting will cause. 


    District offices will be closed July 4th through 8th.  Student results will be available for pick up at the campus during the following dates and times:  Monday July 18th  from 8:00 a.m. -12:00 noon and Tuesday July 19th  1:00-4:00 p.m.
